THE Mt Hagen Wamp Nga Eagles have named their final squad for the Digicel Cup.

They play the TNA Lions on Sunday in Kundiawa as a build-up for their first competition match against the Lae Snax Tigers in Lae on April 14.

The Wamp Nga Eagles beat the Bintangor Lahanis in Goroka last week.

The final squad is: Junior Rau, Bathley Wama, Jason Tali (captain) Solo Kumin, Nos Gabriel, David Kawage, Max John, Skipper Mel, Danny Aaron, Elijah Dom, Laima Pora, Francis Pengti, Otto Sam, Sent Angra, Alex Appa, Thomson Atep, Darren Mikel, Stanley Bata and Joe Joshua.

The officials are Bob Pakindi (team manager), Joe Tep (head coach), John Waka (trainer) and David Mandau (doctor).

“We are confident that this squad will carry the Western Highlands flag in rugby league,” Pakindi, the team manager, said.

He said he was confident a good squad had been selected to go into camp.

“This squad has been selected through the colour competition sponsored by the Eagles club.

“We are now prepared to meet the challenge ahead and give the best of our talents and maintain the standard of rugby league in the province,” he said.

“I appeal to the people of Western Highlands that we need your support so that we can play well in the competition.”

Pakindi said he was proud of the Eagles first performances in Goroka and believed they would do well on Sunday.

He said this was a new management and they would work tirelessly to bring a good name for the province in rugby league.
