THE Wantok Gaming System  Mt Hagen Eagles have named a strong side to take on the Toyota Enga Mioks on Sunday at Johnson Siki Oval in Wabag.
Journeyman Emmanuel Kunjin has been named as starting prop in the Eagles line-up along intercity debutant Les Koipa while  backrower and Kumul Francis Ray will captain the side.
Kumul five-eighth Dion Aiye has been given the added leadership role as Ray’s vice while taking charge of all Eagles’ plays.
Kunjin, who has played for several intercity franchises including the Port Moresby Vipers and  Lae Bombers, jumped at the opportunity to return to his home province after several years spent playing outside Hagen and said he was relishing being back home.
Kunjin is hoping to make the Eagles No.10 jersey his own but will have to compete with Kumul powerhouse George Moni who was not named in the team.
The final 17-man announced yesterday by the WGS Eagles board member Garry Lou is: Ham Tee, Elijah Don, Jason Tali, Steven Neng, Dion Aiye (vc), Alex Apa, Kunjin , Danny Aaron, Les Koipa, Francis Ray (c), Robert Benny and Sent Angra.
The reserves are Simon Young, Lapua David, Roderick Kelly and Jonathan Tiri while the stand by players are Jason Mawa and Stanley Baita.
Former Kumul Young will be given until Friday to be cleared to play.
Eagles will have their launch on Friday before travelling to Wabag on Saturday.
