THE Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has announced the appointment of the head of delegation for the Papua New Guinea men’s national team.
PNGFA president David Chung said the former managing director of the National Broadcasting Corporation and football advocate Joseph Ealedona has been appointed as the head of delegation, effective immediately.
He said it was an effort to bring changes to the management of the national team as the PNGFA embarked on its ambitious roadmap to get PNG to the World Cup.
“Ealedona has been assisting the national team and his efforts, together with many other football friends, including the PNG Football Supporters Club, the prime minister and the Government saw Papua New Guinea make it into the recent OFC championships finals, narrowly losing to New Zealand in a penalty shoot-out but importantly qualifying PNG to a historic Fifa World Cup 2018 OFC qualifying round,” Chung said.
