The National, Friday 21st September 2012

SCHOOLS in the National Capital District closed early yesterday as bus and taxi operators ceased operations in the city.
St Therese Primary School authorities suspended afternoon classes and sent students home after midday.
Ward Strip Demonstration Primary School opted for a suspension of classes as well.
Head teacher Sam Puwa attributed that to the one day protest staged by transport operators at Jack Pidik Park, 5-Mile.
He said if the situation continued today, students may have to remain at home.
Today is last day of term three.
Under the education calendar, term four restarts on Oct 1 for all schools and vocational centres.
Gordon Secondary School suspended classes yesterday for a carnival held by another school in its compound.
