EAST Sepik police reported five deaths, including a 17-year-old boy, who was stabbed on the back after a drinking session at Nuigo One, Wewak,
The boy was in the company of six others, according to provincial police commander Supt Albert Beli, who said the boy was chased by a suspect.
“He fell down while being chased, with the suspect stabbing him on his back and inflicting a deep wound,” he said.
“He was rushed to Boram Hospital but died on the way.”
The matter was reported and the suspect from Naurange village was arrested. The suspect appeared for his first mention last week.
In another wilful murder case, two men were killed during a fight at Yuaruma village, Angoram, during a traditional party.
Supt Beli said youths from Moim village went for the party when groups fought with weapons.
“Two men were killed and another two received knife injuries,” he said.
