POLICE reported three murders and a robbery in Port Moresby over the Easter weekend.
Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’Dranou said the murders occurred at the Talai settlement in Badili, Gerehu and Gordon.
He said the deceased in the Badili case was a 47-year-old from Kabwum in Morobe.
He said two suspects, also from Kabwum, were arrested.
N’Dranou said in the Gerehu Stage 3B case: “The suspects broke into the deceased’s home, and when the deceased confronted them, they stabbed him four or five times.”
The suspects were still at large.
N’Dranou said both incidents occurred early on Monday.
A man was shot dead at Kovia Street, Gordon. The man was returning home after dropping off his wife and kids at church. He was followed, police said.
When he was slow in responding to his demand, he was shot.
The incident occurred last Thursday.
N’Dranou said added there was a robbery at the PNG Gardener office Palm Grove, Waigani, where five suspects barged into the office and took an unknown amount in daily takings.
Two suspects have been apprehended.
