Eastern Highlands to host covenant day

 EASTERN Highlands will host the National Covenant Day next Monday, a public holiday.

Governor Julie Soso will host Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, members of parliament and church leaders, according to the Pr Phyllis Morea of the Good News Ministry which has been tasked to coordinate celebrations in the nation’s capital. 

Pr Morea said the National Covenant Day would be a time for reconciliation and unity for the Government, churches and the people. 

They will come together in prayer to address the rise in crime in the nation. 

She said it would be a good time to get together and look at how to solve the problems affecting the nation.

She said the main celebration would be held in Goroka but other centres such as Port Moresby would organise their own events.

She said the covenant would make a great impact on the nation.
