Eda Ranu calls on stakeholders to work with it to provide clean water
Eda Ranu acting managing director Raka Taviri has called on stakeholders to work together in partnership to ensure that people have access to safe water.
Taviri said that Eda Ranu as a State-Owned Enterprise priority was to deliver service to the people but they also needed the support of stakeholders to deliver services.
“We will do what we are supposed to do, but all stakeholders must support us where necessary.”
“We need to work in partnerships in order to bring clean water to our communities, in settlements, business districts.”
“Water is an important need in people’s lives, so if we provide clean, safe water for the people than we’ll have healthy people as well,” he said.
Taviri also said that it was important for landowners, Government and communities to work together to achieve the country’s goals in providing clean, safe water to all its people.
People in Moresby North-East will soon have access to clean water thanks to their local MP John Kaupa, who gave K1 million from his DSIP funds to ensure that his people can have access to clean safe water.
Taviri thanked Kaupa for making a bold stand and said when stakeholders worked together they always achieved their goals.
“We can live without eating for weeks, but we cannot live without water.”
“Water is a necessary need and we must all work together to ensure that our people have access to clean water,” he said.
