The inaugural Edai Town Fair held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend has been a success, Edai Town Development Ltd director Kym Yong says.
The event last Saturday was both fun and educational for estate residents.
Yong said the fair was to get both residents and people from Port Moresby together over the long weekend.
She said it was also a great way to promote Edai Town to home-buyers.
Edai Town is in Boera, Central.
It is about 20 minutes’ drive from downtown Port Moresby.
The event included tours for people to inspect the different house types available in the estate.
Business houses and individuals, including local villagers, set up stalls to sell food products and consumer items.
The Edai Early Learning Centre for children aged three and above had their first student registered during the fair.
Yong said classes would commence on Aug 1 and that the school was open to children of both residents and non-residents.
A Bank South Pacific home loan team was there to explain home loan products and advise people on how to be able to secure a home-loan from the bank.
A lawyer in attendance also helped people understand their contract agreements for purchasing a home in the estate.
Yong said they previous hosted Christmas fairs in 2016 and 2017.
Yong said the next fair could be with an Apec meeting or at Christmas.
