STAFF members of the Education Ministry have been told to put God first in their work this year.
“We should know that God is watching everything we do, therefore doing what is right is very important,” Education Minister Nick Kuman said.
A dedication service was held yesterday at the PNG Education Institute Hall in Port Moresby for staff of the Teachers Services Commission, Department of Education and the Office of Library and Archives.
“I want us all to work together towards another successful year,” Kuman said.
He said teachers, students and parents were important and should be helped.
Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra advised staff members to be “selfless” and to “work without expecting a reward”.
“We are blessed with knowledge, wisdom and talents from God and in return we must give with all our heart,” Kombra said.
Samson Manenge from the National Archives told The National that the service reminded him of the duty he had to perform towards education in the country.
“As agents of the department, it is our duty to uphold God’s principles to help students and teachers in the country.
