Eels edge Panthers to secure first grand final berth

CK Pora Eels edged Houvu Panthers 7-6 to secure the first grand final berth in the Siouposa Rugby League A grade preliminary finals at Lese Oalai oval on Saturday.
The points were all from three penalty goals from half back Robin Steven and field goal from Philip Joe. The Panthers try was from Manu Susuve and Eugene Forova added a penalty goal.
The half time score was 5-2 in favour of Eels.
This was the match of the round played by many raw talents.
Eels will face the winner of Broncos and Highway Cowboys preliminary finals.
While Itisora Broncos and Highway Cowboys match was abandoned due to a pitch invasion.
The scores will remain as 12-4 and only 15 minutes will be played after the Cowboys pay a K500 fine as their supporters had entered the field of play.
PNGRFL Southern director Gwaibo Mairi said that competition rules were applied to penalise Cowboys.
Mairi said they had the right to appeal the decision with a K1,000 appeal fee in 24 hours.
