Ela Motors marks 50 years in PNG

ELA Motors last night had a press launch at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Port Moresby to mark its 50 years of operation in Papua New Guinea.
The company started operations on Feb 9, 1963, and over the years has supplied automotive products to the PNG community and businesses.
Present at the launch were Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, Transport and Works Minister Ano Pala, NCD Governor Powes Parkop and chief secretary Manasupe Zurenuoc.
Also in attendance were Shigeru Ito, managing director of Toyota Tsusho South Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd (TTSPH) and senior management of TTSPH and Ela Motors.
O’Neill presented a commemorative plaque to Ela Motors chief executive and director David Purcell on behalf of the government.
Ela Motors plans a year of special events and offers to mark its 50th year in PNG.
