TOYOTA dealer Ela Motors Toyota Tsusho (PNG) Ltd has been recognised by Toyota Tsusho Corp and Toyota Motor Corp in Japan for their sales results last year.
“In a year of unprecedented financial turmoil, we have seen the PNG market continue to perform well,” David Purcell, chief executive and director for Ela Motors, said.
“The underlying business confidence and positive support for many of the programmes in this country has enabled Ela Motors to reach record levels in sales across our franchises,” he said.
Ela Motors has been recognised for the following sales records by Junzo Shimizu, president of Toyota Tsusho Corp.
The results for last year were: Toyota sales of 3,314 units; Yamaha sales of 5,131 units; and Hino sales of 182 units.
In addition, Ela Motors received the managing director’s excellence award for outstanding regional business performance from Shigeru Ito, managing director Toyota Tsusho South Pacific Ltd.
To cap an outstanding year for the company, Ela Motors also received from Akio Toyoda, president Toyota Motor Corp, the company overall marketing award for last year.
“None of this would have been possible without the commitment and dedication of a great team of people here at Ela Motors” Mr Purcell said.
“Their focus on meeting our customers’ expectations and going beyond the norm to help customers has been the telling point in our achieving these record sales levels.
“While Toyota, Hino and Yamaha model range and product development have been designed with PNG conditions in mind, there is no doubt that our staff are the real point of difference. “These awards recognise them and I am pleased and proud to accept these awards on their behalf.”
The company been operating in PNG for 46 years and holds the franchise for Toyota, Hino, Yamaha, Daihatsu, Massey Ferguson and Mack.
It employs over 900 staff and has 16 branches throughout PNG.
