THE article “Grandfather determined to complete grade” (The National, Feb 11) was inspirational to older people wanting to continue their education.
But the negative side is that such situation can deny a deserving young child a place in that grade.
It should not be encouraged by the education authorities.
The grandfather should be advised to continue his education through the Flexible and Open Distance Education.
Congratulations to him and others in a similar situation for striving to get educated at such an old age
Education is a life-long process and should be encouraged, but it must not be used to disadvantage children’s learning.
Our children are the most deserving group to be educated for the future of this country.
