Election is near, don’t change government

Letters

THE move by government ministers and backbenchers to the opposition to overthrow Prime Minister James Marape has surprised many.
The question is why push for a change of current prime minister and cabinet through a motion of no confidence when there’s only about 18 months before the next election?
What can the opposition deliver to this nation in this short period?
Whose interests are they acting on?
To me, even though if the opposition is successful, nothing they do will change this country.
The opposition is filled with greedy and corrupt politicians who are only changing the government for their own interests.
One example is the K506 million National Planning and Monitoring Department money laundering case involving few notable opposition MPs which need to be answered. Otherwise, what has Marape done to warrant his removal?
Surprisingly, parliament passed the bill to fight corruption last Thursday and few opposition MPs were looking for cover knowing what that meant so they are taking over the government to be in power and take control of things and use government funds to go into 2022 national elections.
Removing Marape will not change PNG over night.
This nation needs honest and God-fearing leaders, not greedy and corrupt ones.
Marape is human just as any of us and can make mistakes but he can learn from them.
Stop making unnecessary changes to his cabinet unless if it’s necessary.
Can the opposition leader Belden Namah and his camp name their candidate for prime minister before December?

  • There was an MP bearing the above name in the past.
If you are that person, you certainly are in a very good position to understand the actions of the current MPs.
If I am wrong then I sincerely apologise.
