IT is believed that the current Southern Highlands administrator will be contesting the regional seat in 2012 while the Nipa-Kutubu district treasurer will contest the Nipa-Kutubu open electorate.

They are financial delegates to government funds in the province and that’s what matters most.

Anyone can easily draw lines to accuse them of using public monies to promote themselves in the lead-up to the elections.

It is a concern that people may wrongly interpret their long absence from office during official hours as has been the case.

We live in a Melanesian society where we want to maintain our leadership status at all cost.

Today’s leadership is money power and when money runs out we may be tempted to put our hands into the wrong purse.

They cannot serve two masters at the same time.

If they have political ambitions then they should resign now so as not to cast doubts on their integrity.
