ELECTION review submission will be ready for Parliament by the middle of the year, says chairman of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Election Reform Allan Bird.
Bird told The National that a report was being done up and would be brought to Parliament in June or July.
He said the committee met last Wednesday and planned its public enquiry using observer reports from past elections years provided by organisations like the National Research Institute, Transparency International PNG and the Australia National University.
“We do our first public enquiry in Port Moresby towards the end of next month,” he said.
Bird its implementation would be monitored over the course of the next election cycle.
“Public consultations start on the second week of next month,” he said.
“Then we do the provincial consultations and then hopefully by June or July we bring the report to Parliament with all the recommendations.”
