FRUSTRATED service providers in Eastern Highlands province have locked out Electoral Commission staff over the non-payment of bills from the 2012 general election.

Acting Eastern Highlands provincial elections manager Janet Ruben and her staff were forced out of the office at about 3pm yesterday, an hour before Deputy Prime Minister Leo Dion issued the writs for the local level government elections.

The service providers gathered at the office and changed the locks to the main door and said it would be reopened when the bills were settled.
