FORMER professional kickboxer Bostany Elo wants to provide unfortunate or unemployed youths a second chance in life to become better persons in their communities.

The 26-year-old from Dilinu village in Lake Kopiago, Hela province, kickboxer-cum boxer is one of many unsung heroes who wants to share what he has in life with people around him.

Elo recently formed the Hela Bird of Paradise Boxing Club (HBOPBC) in Port Moresby and is now preparing a team to make their first representation at the national boxing championship in Kavieng next month.

The former professional kickboxer hopes PNG Amateur Boxing Union can allow him and his fighters to take part in the November  event in Kavieng, New Ireland province.

Apart from his boxing training, HBOPBC has over 1000 youths from various age groups training under its wing. His activities did not go unnoticed as he was presented a Men of Honour award for his campaign against violence in Sports category by Digicel Foundation.

Digicel Foundation under chief executive officer Beatrice Mahuru recommended Elo for the award early this year.

The Hela man said his association was running awareness in three electorates in Port Moresby about violence in sport and sexual violence.  Elo is calling on corporate sponsors to support his good cause in helping the unemployed youths to take part in the sport. Those wishing to assist can contact him on 71601097.
