MEMBER for Nipa-Kutubu Philemon Embel yesterday admitted in parliament that he had an argument with a parliamentary staff over his entitlements and plane tickets.
Embel said the argument had started when the staff did not respond to his enquiry favourably.
He admitted using abusive language which forced the staff to get out of his chair to confront him.
“I am at fault for abuse and the staff was also at fault to stand up from his office to start a fight with me.”
However, he said the matter had been resolved and was not an issue anymore.
Embel said he has had a good relationship with parliament staff during his past four terms in parliament.
He said he had sent his electoral officers to enquire about the parliamentary entitlements and the airline ticket for the past months but, after receiving a negative response from the office, he went personally to enquire.
