Empty buildings

THERE seems to be plenty of empty buildings throughout Port Moresby.
Rents are down. Property prices have dropped.
I am concerned that my super fund – is still going in partnership with a large local developer on new projects.
Member’s funds are being used to finance these projects. We are being used like a bank.
A few questions for my funds investment manager, the board and the regulator:

•  Has a proper analysis been done on likely returns? I don’t seem to see any tender process for the construction. I do hope the jobs aren’t being given to the builder / partner without any cost checks.
•  Are all hopes for occupancy being pinned on the Papuan LNG? Or else what?
•  How long does the boom in accommodation demand from these LNGs last?
  The PNG LNG crest went for maybe five years.
  The next one will be less.
  I do hope these main projects with large funds involved are being properly scrutinised without outside influence.
