Enact alcohol, drug laws

Letters

THE announcement made by the Southern Highland Police Commander yesterday in the The National newspaper to punish people who drink alcohol and smoke marijuana in public places, is commendable.
The PPC said that anyone found drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in the public places or on moving vehicle, would be fined K10,000 and K5,000 bail on those drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in the public.
Those found selling alcohol will also be punished.
This is very much welcomed and commendable because it would help to prevent incidents and troubles.
However, is this being enacted by the government?
Otherwise it will be prejudice.
The commander is applauded but we want the government to get this enacted and gazette it so that it would becomes a lawful act.
Can the Police Minister Bryan Kramer take this to the parliament so it can be debated for and against?

Concern Citizen,
