Speaking on Sunday at the funeral service of Mr Itinge, Mr Dion described Mr Itinge as a man who contributed much to the development of politics, business and the community.
He said Mr Itinge was a quiet and humble person and always ensured that work to achieve an objective was completed at the end of the day.
“Mr Itinge was a person who always consulted the leaders and the councillors in resolving law and order problems through the right way.
“He held high respect for the community leaders of Kabakaul and Bitapaka council wards,” he said.
Also speaking at the funeral service was Information and Communications Minister and Kokopo MP Patrick Tammur said he first came to know Mr Itinge after the 2007 elections.
“Mr Itinge was the first person to establish contact with me and invited me to join the National Alliance party,” he said.
