EAST New Britain Governor Nakikus Konga, says the province was ready to work with the new government of Prime Minister James Marape.
“What transpired (last week) was an historical election for the country and the people of East New Britain are looking forward to the leadership of the new prime minister,” Konga said.
“We have all the trust and confidence in your leadership to continue from where your predecessor has left (off).
“My government and its administration as well as the people of the province will work closely with you in the next two and a half years before the 2022 election to deliver some of the development projects and programmes in the province.”
Konga also thanked former Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his leadership in the past seven years.
He thanked O’Neill for granting autonomy for ENB, New Ireland and Enga.
He said East New Britain would make the autonomy work for the country to learn from.
