ENB schools slow in returning census forms
The National, Tuesday 19th March, 2013
SCHOOLS in East New Britain have been slow handing in their respective national schools census forms.
In-service coordinator with the provincial education Casper Ruga said since the forms were distributed to elementary, primary, high, secondary and vocational schools there had been no positive response.
“The forms are coming into the education office at a snail’s pace,” Ruga said.
He said only 2% was received from the elementary section so far, 2% from the high schools and 1% each from secondary and vocational sections.
Ruga said all forms should be taken to provincial education office in Kokopo before the end of this month when they would be dispatched to the national office.
He said the forms should contain accurate data on increased enrolment figures, teachers, positions and bank account details.
“If you do not submit forms quickly, you will not benefit from the free fee tuition.”
Ruga said most schools in Kokopo, Rabaul, Gazelle and Sinivit were accessible by road and there was no excuse for the forms not to be delivered to the education office on time.
From next week the local radio station will name schools yet to submit the forms.
