Enga gets own Bible

 HUNDREDS of Christians in Enga gathered last Friday in Wabag to witness the launching of a new Bible translated in the Engan language.

The translations are available in print and audio. 

To coincide with the launching, a “Jesus March” was held in Wabag by Christians expressing in different ways how they exercise their faith in God.  

A team from the New Break Assemblies of God church in San Diego, California also travelled to Wabag to witness the launching of the Engan-language Bible.

The New Break church contributed heavily towards the printing and training of Christians who took part in translating the Bible.

The team was led by layman pastor and chief district attorney of San Diego Daniel Lamborn.

Lamborn said it was a pleasure to bring the Word of God to people who cannot read, write and understand English in their own languages.

“This is part of extending the Word of God to people who are living in some of the remotest parts of the world,” he said.

Lamborn said the Bible would help Engans know the meaning and revelations in the Holy Bible.

“What we are doing here now in Wabag is a blessing and it is part of spreading the Word of God to lost souls,” he said.

“God called us to do that to prepare for the second coming of His son Jesus Christ to take home with Him the believers.”

Bible Translation Enga (BTE) chairman Rev Ponak Lepatu said it was a blessing for the Christians in the province.

He said people needed to know the real meaning of the Bible.
