THE Enga Mioks franchise has retained Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup chief executive officer Timothy Lepa, as coach for the 2018 Digicel Cup season.
He will be assisted by former Mioks player Thomas Neah.
Lepa, franchise manager Sam Koi, assistant team manager Joe Kilipal all retained their positions to take charge of the club as it looks to improve on its fifth place finish last season.
The announcement was made yesterday by franchise owner the Enga provincial government.
Club chairman Philip Kepson said the reappointed officials had applied for the positions together with others.
“Officials yet to be appointed upon recommendation from the franchise manager are trainer, team doctor and physiotherapist,” Kepson said.
“As a matter of formality, I take the opportunity to thank those whose applications were considered successful for the various official positions and we’re looking forward to seeing them producing more from where we left off last season towards winning the cup,” he said.
“On behalf of the board and club patron Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas, I wish to make a special mention of Sam Koi for taking charge of the team last year single-handedly while most of our officials and board members were busy with the elections.
“Thank you once again for leading the team as far as ending the season on third position.
“We could not make it to the major semifinals due to a single points differential with the Mendi Muruks.
“Therefore, I have a lot of confidence in the official’s potential to inputting towards a much improved ending of the season this year, perhaps with the cup.
“The board will find a better time to thank you all for your contribution so far and I encourage each and every official to move to the next level.”
