Enga pupils receive laptops to help them in their studies

Education

FIFTEEN Engan students from two national high schools in the country are the latest beneficiaries of the Enga government’s quality education programme.
The students, all currently in grade 11 at Aiyura and Wawin national high schools in Eastern Highlands and Morobe, each received a new laptop installed with programmes to help them with their studies.
Under the K22 million quality education programme announced recently, the Enga government, under Sir Peter Ipatas, has approved, among others, a specific programme to give incentives such as laptops to top grade 10 students and a separate scholarship package for grade 12 “science students” whodo well in their national examination.
Other initiatives under the programme include improving learning infrastructures in primary, high and secondary schools in the province.
Introducing internet technology including Wifi services in school campuses is among the options that the Enga government is looking at for the next 10 years.
