Enough space to plant coffee trees

I REFER to the letter “Where is Kaeok going to plant 1mil seedlings?” (The National, May 17) by Peter Katenge.
The writer said that there was not enough space to plant one million coffee seedlings in the district or space in the nursery to cater to the seedlings.
My guess is that the writer has not been to Wapenamanda or is someone who is not from the district.
One must understand that in Enga, Wapenamanda is the only district which is suitable to plant coffee and other agricultural produces.
If you are talking about land mass, the district can easily accommodate more than one million coffee seedlings.
We, Engans, are not afraid of hard work or getting our hands dirty working the soil.
We do not live on free handouts.
The initiative taken by Wapenamanda MP Miki Kaeok is for the well-being of the people.
It is a long-term sustainable project that will generate income for the people.
I commend Kaeok for taking that initiative as it shows he cares for the people.
