THE Enterprise Centre, an initiative of Esso Highlands Ltd (EHL), celebrated its first anniversary along with the opening of a new building last Thursday.
The centre was developed by the Institute of Banking and Business Management (IBBM) through EHL, operator of the PNG LNG project.
The anniversary was marked with breakfast attended by government representatives, business leaders and many of the suppliers and businesses who had been supported by the centre over the past year.
At the breakfast meeting, the centre also inaugurated its new offices which had been set up to facilitate the centre’s programmes and activities on capacity building of landowner companies and local businesses.
EC employees moved into the new building over the weekend.
The centre had taken the lead in a range of activities designed to support the PNG LNG project through identification and matching of business opportunities, capacity-building programmes to support and strengthen landowner companies, business assessment programmes and development and maintenance of a supplier database.
The development of the centre was an integral part of the PNG LNG project’s national content plan.
