INDONESIAN Ambassador Andriana Supandy is encouraging school leavers in Mamose to enroll in a vocational school in Jayapura to undertake technical training.
“I would like grade eight and grade10 school leavers in West Sepik, East Sepik, Madang and Morobe who cannot continue their formal education to enroll at the Jayapura industrial vocational training center,” Supandy said.
“This vocational centre was established in 1962 by the International Labour Organisation and training there is of international standard.
“There are 15 workshops there that provide training in information and technology, electrical, mechanic, welding, carpentry and other trade courses.
“After graduating from the centre, you will be better trained to return to PNG and find employment or you start your own business.”
Supandy said this when he met with West Sepik education officers in Vanimo last Wednesday.
