Eastern Papua Carnival secretary George Bukoya says the top four teams in each pool have been finalised.
He said 10 matches were yet to be played before the finals this weekend.
Bukoya said Maiyela, Gabutu One, Oceaners One, Greenline Mariners, Lautams and Milne Bay Spirits were consistent performers in the men’s division.
“There were supposed to be eight teams left before the finals but because of timing, two sides were brought forward,” Bukoya said.
“Now we have 10 teams left before the finals begin.
“Visiting clubs from Alotau and the sub-districts are really putting in strong performances and their teams are also in the top-four.
“Maiyela, the defending champions in the men’s and women’s divisions, are performing very well.”
