EsiLoan has signed an agreement with Post PNG for its loans to be paid to mobileSMK accounts and bank accounts.
EsiLoan head of sales Cynthia Kewei said she was happy to have partnered with Post PNG so that EsiLoan customers could have the convenience and ease of receiving their loans into their mobileSMK account.
“Our customers now have a choice of receiving their loans into their bank account or into their mobileSMK account.
“mobileSMK means that our customers can receive their loans immediately.
“Often EsiLoan customers need the loan to help a relative or wantok.
“Now with mobileSMK, as soon as they receive their loan into their mobileSMK account they can transfer the money to their relatives or wantoks.”
Post PNG manager financial services Kenei Gumaru said EsiLoan customers not need to queue at an ATM or at the bank or at a post office.
“Often, EsiLoan customers today receive their loan into their bank account, have to queue at the ATM, then have to go to the post office and queue again to send their money by the traditional SMK.
“This can take them a good half a day.
“With EsiLoans paid on to their mobileSMK account it takes minutes, and it is a lot cheaper and convenient.”
Gumaru said mobileSMK had gone from strength to strength since its launch in July.
“mobileSMK is the successful non-bank mobile money service in the South Pacific.”
