ESP police arrest 4 over theft of raw gold

POLICE have arrested four suspects for stealing K60,000 worth of raw gold in East Sepik.
Police commander Supt Albert Beli said the suspects were arrested in Angoram by a Lae Mobile Squad last week.
“The information is still not clear and we are still trying to determine where and from whom they stole the raw gold,” he added.
The suspects are now being held in Angoram Police Station for interrogation.
Beli said the squad had also captured a fugitive who escaped from Boram jail.
The fugitive, who was serving jail sentence for murder, was captured in Yangoru’s Waramuru Village.
