Esso Highlands will be looking at other liquefied natural gas prospects over the next 10 years, including P’nyang and Juha, in Western, and Angore, in Hela, managing director Peter Graham says.

He said yesterday that more work needed to be done at P’nyang while Juha and Angore were part of the foundation project at Hides and would be developed as and when needed.

“More work to be done at P’nyang to prove the resource,” Graham said.

“We’re hoping to have further drilling activity for additional reserves and do a bit more business.”

“Juha is part of the foundation project. These are part of the reserves that are committed.

“Juha is scheduled to come on about 10 years after start up.

“We don’t need every field to be on, on day 1 to produce enough gas to meet the sales commitments.

“But there will come a time when Juha reserves are needed to be brought on to make sure that we satisfy other commitments that we made to customers.”
