Ethnic tension threatens city

Letters

THERE is ethnic tension between the Mendis and Yomos, of Nembi Plateau, in Nipa Kutubu, over a compensation demand of K4 million and 400 pigs because of the death of a Yomo man during a drunken brawl.
Tension is high and anything can happen in Port Moresby that will give the city a bad image, especially with the Apec Summit in November.
Can the metropolitan commander step in?
I believe that police at Gordon’s and 6-Mile have failed.
Eight-Mile is a national community which does not belong to only one or two groups.
We want peace and harmony and let the law take its own cause.
