European clothes hit PNG market

Business

PREMIUM Fashion International has restocked its flagship store with European second-hand clothes for sale and distribution in Port Moresby.
Premium Fashion, located opposite Boroko market in Port Moresby, is an agent of the Australian second-hand goods company Nilechemy Industries.
“This shop restock is specifically for wholesale distributors,” said Premium Fashion store manager Rex Pellen said.
“Those interested in buying bales or containers for their own second-hand clothing business can contact us or visit our shop at Boroko, National Capital District, and see for themselves.
“We want distributors in this industry to see and feel the difference in quality.”
Executive Director Emily Nili said Premium Fashion wanted to maintain a high standard of quality in the second-hand clothing business.
“Our European stock is packed to minimise wastage so our clients don’t throw money away with damaged or unsellable stock,” she says.
“We’re offering 55kg premium clothes with tags and labels in single-line bales to ensure customers aren’t tricked with mixed bales.”
Said Pellen: “By making quality our primary focus, Premium Fashion-supplied bales are packed in itemised categories to minimise wastage.
“While other suppliers pack 200kg bales of summer mix, limiting options for children and men’s clothing, Premium Fashion supplies bales that allow second-hand distributors to track sale and purchase bales according to their customer base.
“Our bales are packed in 55kg reusable, biodegradable plastic bags – single line category.
“This means, if you sell men’s trousers faster than women’s blouses, then you can purchase a ‘men’s trousers’ bale but you
don’t have to buy a summer-mix bale, just to get 10 per cent men’s clothing, 50 women’s clothing, 20 per cent children’s clothing because the rest is unsellable rubbish.”
