Event for k’boxersput off to Nov 14

Normal, Sports

PNG Kickboxing Association and its working committee have announced that the international kickboxing showdown set for yesterday at the Sports Inn Hotel has been deferred to Nov 14.
Association national coordinator Micah Oki said there was a deferral because the organisers could not secure funding to carry out promotions and logistic work before the event.
He said the event would attract fighters from Australia taking on PNG’s elite fighters.
The event will start a 1pm to 5pm with an eight-man elimination round followed by the international bouts starting at 7pm to 9pm.
Oki said each province was expected to send  their top five fighters to compete against each other in the eight-man battle to qualify for the international selection for next year.
More information on the event can be obtained from Oki on 76468452.
