THE Tamur family in Kokopo plan to develop their land following a traditional ceremony in Gamus recently.

They are the families of the late Oscar Tamur and his son Patrick Tamur, the former Kokopo MP.

The traditional event called the Warwakai was conducted in the Kuanua language.

A Warwakai is a traditional event that is conducted to pay respect to family members who have passed on.

It is understood that old buildings at the Gumur area will be demolished to make way for development.

This will also add to the development in the Kokopo area, particularly the town area.
