Ex-manager faces charge of false pretence

A FORMER National Housing Corporation regional manager is facing a charge of fraudulently obtaining K69,000 from a woman who wanted to buy a property in Goroka town.
Mohammed Basir is facing a charge of false pretence to defraud another person. He is expected to appear in court tomorrow in Goroka.
The complainant Margret Warip had allegedly paid Basir amounts totaling K69,000 for the property in Goroka town.
According to police documents, Basir had tried to sell the property identified as section 38, allotment 16 in Goroka to Warip. He was then the NHC highlands regional manager.
