FORMER Madang MP Alois Kingsley is facing six fraud-related charges linked to the alleged transfer of shares in a company to him, police say.
Assistant Police Commissioner Crime Hodge Ette said Kingsley, 51, from Yabob village, Madang, was charged with two counts each of forgery, utterance and stealing.
“He is out on bail and is expected to appear before the Waigani District Court in Port Moresby this week,” he said.
He said Kingsley allegedly “defrauded” the majority of shares owned in a company by Andrew Anis. Ette said Anis had lodged a complaint with police in 2017 to investigate the transfer of shares in his company to Kingsley.
“Police have commenced investigation and other suspects will be arrested soon.” It is understood that Anis had got heavily involved in church activities in 2000 and allowed Kingsley’s (unnamed) co-accused to run the company.
Kingsley allegedly conspired with his co-accused to transfer all the shares owned by Anis to himself.
He was arrested last Friday.
