The National – Thursday, March 17, 2011

I REFER to the letter “Changing the image of Tambul-Nebilyer” (The National, March 14) by Wanop Gomo.
To claim Tambul is a town is not true. It is only a government station.
It is wrong to say the people have been neglected for the last 30 years.
Sir Kutaka did his part to develop the electorate when he was a member in the 1970s.
Then came Pulua Makipon and Thomas Nekints, who did a lot for the electorate. They were followed by Vincent Auali, Mark Anis and now Benjamin Poponawa.
Nekints and Auali served for two terms and they contributed a lot to the electorate.
Poponawa has done well and deserved to be praised.
He is only building on the foundations set by his predecessors.
It would be good if he can fix the Telema bridge.
