While attending a gala dinner in Port Moresby on Saturday, Harrison spoke on the significant developments domestically and abroad.
“We successfully hosted more international games at the Amini Park in Port Moresby,” he said. “We played a 50-over and T20 match against Hong Kong late last year.
“In different conditions early this year, we managed a T20 tournament wmong the Philippines, Vanuatu and the Barramundis.
“We hope to see international games become a regular feature of cricket in Papua New Guinea and we look forward to be able to attract more fans.”
Harrison acknowledged the work of Rodney Maha under the governing body’s talent identification programme and the Bank South Pacific school cricket initiative, which helped developed young cricketers.
He also thanked the support from business houses, which have helped improve PNG’s ranking since 2011.
The dinner featured Melbourne Stars and Australian women’s bowler Kristen Beams and Australian cricket legend Damien Fleming.
Fleming said he was impressed with the talent and progress of cricket in PNG.
