THE 2011 Islands Petroleum-Port Moresby Motorcycle Club show and shine is shaping up to be the biggest with a strong motor vehicle presence tipped to outclass the   motorcycles this year.
Trophies and K1,000 have been awarded for the Ela Motors Best 4×4 and Ela Motors Best Street Car.
Other events include The Doof Doof award for the loudest sound system in a vehicle and a prize for the Dirtiest 4×4.
Neglected machinery is not left out because there will be prizes awarded for the Best Ugly RAT bike and Best Ugly RAT car.
Islands Petroulem are offering K1,500 plus trophy to the overall winners and Bike of the Show.
The Corp are handing over another K1,000 and trophy for Best Street Bike.
The “old iron” is not left out with a Classic Motorcycle Class which proves to be a popular exhibit.
Displays do not have to be running as last year’s winners proved with a static display of a Triumph Bonnivile.
Some have suggested that to see the Triumph under its own steam at all would be worthy of an award in itself.
Crowd favourites such as the motorcycle burn out competition are back again this year with Steve France threatening to make his fire-breathing Yamaha 450 Quad sweat it out on the concrete.
The popular tattoo competition returns as well with Tradewinds prizes for the best looking ink on both men and women as well as the motocross boot hurling competition, where the women have a chance at knocking down a standing target to win some great prizes .
Farmset have again supplied a brand new Shineray Enduro bike for some lucky guest to take home.
The Giveaways and prizes feature heavily this year with the event treasure chest overflowing with prizes such as flat screen TV, DVD player, caps and T-shirt supplied by Bullivants and ISAS.
Legend FM will be keeping the tunes coming from the event to keep the toes tapping, while the Car Club kitchen and bar are expected to be working overtime.
For K50 you can enter your car and bikes, while if you just want to watch the days antics, K10 for adults and K5 for children gets you in the gate.
Food and drinks are on sale with the big day starting at midday on Saturday at the South Pacific Motor Sports Club (Car Club).
