Exec: Let unity prevail

NATIONAL Capital District (NCD) city manager Bernard Kipit says unity should be practised in all markets in the city regardless of where vendors were from.
Kipit said this in response to questions from The National following a social media commentary which stated that vendors from Central were forced to sell outside the Boroko market even though they were supposed to be given first priority to sell their produce there.
“It’s not in our intention to separate people,” he said.
“We want people to know that they must work and do business in peace and harmony instead of trying to divide whether this belongs to Central province and this belongs to the rest of PNG.
“That’s not in the true spirit of unification.
“When we talk independence, we don’t talk about one province, we talk about one PNG and we want to really drive that initiative.”
Kipit said he would review the status of the market in order to confirm who it was meant for.
