NEW Ela Motors chief executive officer Mitsuyoshi Okutsu started his role in the country after completing his 14-day quarantine at a hotel in Port Moresby.
Okutsu told The National yesterday on his first day at work that with the strong Government initiatives to control the spread of the Covid-19, he believed the situation would return to normal soon.
“We just need to be patient for some time,” he said.
“Business is now slightly lower than expected.”
This is Okutsu’s first term in PNG, though he has visited the country several times.
“I joined Toyota Tsusho Corporation (a company of Toyota Group in Japan, handling Toyota vehicles for PNG and other countries) in 1991,” he said.
“Since then, I have worked for Toyota for 29 years and been in charge of Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
“I will enjoy PNG life.”
