Exercise focuses on children

CITY Pharmacy Ltd chief executive officer Navin Raju says the company’s free deworming exercise is now an annual nationwide campaign.
Raju said the exercise which started last year focused on treating young children and especially school-aged children before start of the academic year.
He said deworming improved a child’s immunity and health, and, thereby, protecting the child from chronic illnesses caused by worms.
Raju said an infected child would face challenges concentrating on their studies – which would directly affect their learning and productivity.
He said to avoid these health issues, parents needed to ensure that their children were dewormed regularly.
“The well-known treatment for this deworming is the Albendazole tablet, which will be given to children as recommended by the World Health Organisation,” he said.
