Experience vital for politicians to lead country, says ex-PM

FORMER Prime Minister Peter O’Neill says politicians need to have experience to run the country.
He said during the opening of three staff quarters and a double- storey classroom at the Hambuke Primary School in Yangoru-Saussia, East Sepik yesterday people needed a government which would help them.
He made a commitment to have the school infrastructure built at the school in 2016 while he was PM.
O’Neill told the Hambuke villagers that if he came back to power, he would also continue the tuition fee-free policy scrapped by the current government.
“Each child has a right to be in school and a right to be educated.”
Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru said it cost around K1 million to build the three staff quarters and the classroom.
He said a conducive learning environment would help improve the quality of education.
O’Neill praised Maru for using the district services improvement programme funds on health, education, small-medium enterprises and infrastructure in the electorate.

  • Of course…. especially experience in corruption…He has a lot of that experience….

  • People and even politicians open their eyes of the basic services reached the communities with free education when pnc party was in power. Work must go yet..

    • Use your brains and think!

There is absolutely no Quality in free education funded by borrowed funds. Created more drop outs rather than jobs.

This was a ridiculous political ploy and an election gimmick.

  • PO has brought real change to all levels. If you are blind than go on ahead to criticize him more until you are satisfied. Just compare what other PM’s have done with former PMPO. What’s Marape brought to date..??

  • Yes of course,PO has brought change to some level, but too much borrowing with unsuccessful outcomes from what he invested like free education with no quality of education and free health care with no medicine in hospitals around the country….we must think twice before we talk…..

  • PO has sold this Nation to the foreigners, PMJM is struggling to take it back, We should understand how former PO went down, The Church was praying for New PM, the answer to the Prayers of the Church I believe is the current one, He is the one who appoints & overthrows, seek God who is next…..
