Expose new concept writers to the media
The National, Tuesday July 22nd, 2014
I WOULD like to express myself on some of the electronic media programmes especially on EMTV and Kundu 2 Television Network.
The idea to improve TV and radio programme content were brought on by the AusAID under one of its programme titled Media Development Initiative (MDI) to encourage the development of local programmes and the projects implemented in the radio and television programmes.
But before that, graduates from a recognised creative arts institution in the country presented some of the distinguished TV programme proposals seeking sponsorship from EMTV, Chin H Meen, Brian Bell, Ok Tedi Mine and MRDC just to name a few for educational and entertainment purposes on quiz show, product marketing and general entertainment.
The EMTV company product marketing departments and even couple of donor agencies and electronic media outlets who received these proposals never acknowledged the initiators.
The copyright law is not very effective and the idea thieves have moved perfectly to own and produce the programmes as theirs and eventually it is diminishing because it has never been their product.
I am sure some product marketing and publicity officers of companies and educational institutions who received the concept to sponsor this show have them in their files.
