EXXONMobil Team Two are the new champions of the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) Charity Corporate Golf played at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club on Friday.
Out of the 35 teams, ExxonMobil Team Two with Mike Nama, Hacks Yore, Clark Kuluniasi and Wally Ilake snatched the KPHL Charity Corporate Golf Trophy from second-placed Oil Search Limited Team One. Oil Search Ltd Team Two settled for third.
About K140,000 was raised. Last year, KPHL gave K100,000 to Life Papua New Guinea Care.
The event is held to raise money for Life PNG Care, which looks after disadvantaged children.
“Most of the funds go to the children’s education, and Strongim Pikinini and mobile programmes apart from housing and meals,” Life Care PNG director Collin Pake said.
Pake thanked KPHL for their continuous support in driving the event to raise funds for the children under his care.
KHPHL senior manager Ian Maru said it was their community obligation to be part of a worthy cause in raising funds for disadvantaged children.
“We are proud to be part of that drive to further the education of the children there, with the support of other corporate sectors part taking in the charity golf event,” he said.
Maru acknowledged parliamentarians Michael Nali, Petrus Thomas and William Duma for taking part in the event.
